    2. REGULAR VERBS Verbs whose INFINITIVES end in -ar follow a pattern.

    3. REGULAR VERBS The endings show who is doing the action: (yo) hablo, (t) hablas, and so on.

    4. REGULAR VERBS Verbs that follow certain patterns are called REGULAR verbs.

    5. IRREGULAR VERBS Verbs that do not follow certain patterns are called IRREGULAR verbs.

    6. IRREGULAR VERBS The verb you are about to learn, ir is IRREGULAR. It means to go in English. It is often followed by the word a: Voy al cine.

    7. TO GO (In English) I go You go He She goes It We go They go

    8. IR (To go) Yo voy T vas Ud. l va Ella Nosotros vamos Vosotros vais Uds. Ellos van Ellas

    10. Ir + a + INFINITIVE We use a form of the verb ir + a + infinitive to tell what someone is going to do.

    11. IR + a + INFINITIVE Yo voy a nadar. Y tu, vas a jugar ftbol? Im going to swim. And you, are you going to play soccer?

    12. IR + a place Los estudiantes van a la biblioteca. The students go (are going) to the library.
