MAIN USER COMMITTEE Term of Reference: • Identify and define statistical priorities and requirements in line with national planning; • Coordinate, at the technical level, the collection and dissemination of statistics by government agencies in order to ensure, among others; • i. The efficient and effective utilisation of available resources; • The use of standard concepts, definitions and classifications; • The use of appropriate and effective methods in the collection and production of statistics; and • The production of integrity, reliable and timely data; • Set up Technical Working Groups for specific statistical activities where applicable; and • Meetings will be held minimum two times a year. DOSM CONTINUES TO EVOLVE Formulate strategic plans that identify focus areas and strategies in tandem with developments plans • Area of focus include identification, collection and compilation of priority data for; • Economic development; • Evaluations and monitoring of New Economics Policy; and • Manpower planning • Strategies are flexible and in line with the 10th Malaysia Plan and main thrusts of national vision and “1 Malaysia – People First, Performance Now” concept; and • Take into account globalisation, economic liberalisaton, Economic Transformation Programme and Government Transformation Programme.
