My Journey • BSW from GSU and MSW from UGA • Seven years at Elks Aidmore (CCI) in Conyers • 23 years at Inner Harbour (PRTF, CCI, After School Services, Wilderness Camp…) in Douglasville • Three years with DFCS (19 mths. as Director) • Three years at Together Georgia • 35+ years working in Georgia’s

Private – Public Collaboration • Strongly share the common vision of offering the best possible services to Georgia’s children and families: “Becoming the Best Child Welfare System in the World” – Dir. Cagle • Providers and DHS have a long history of working together through good and challenging times!

Working Together - Initiatives • Co-host Kinship Summits with DFCS and FFTA • Sponsor for the Home in 5 Partnership • Serve on DFCS’s Child Welfare Training Collaborative Advisory Board • Blue Print for Change Road Shows – Host the Providers’ Town Hall meetings • Support DHS’s Faith-Based Initiative work • Serve on DFCS’s Practice Model (SBC) Advisory Board

Working Together – Recent Work Groups • CPA and CCI Rate Analysis • HR 1723 – How surveys and inspections can be more coordinated (ORC, DFCS, DJJ and providers) • Contract reviews and improvements ad hoc committee • Transitional age youth • DFCS Connect By 21 Initiative • Offer stakeholder feedback on federal plans (i.e., CFSR and PIPs)  • DFCS Common Referral Forms • Served on the Prudent Parenting Task Force

Working Together – Misc. • Monthly chapter meetings with a variety of sub-workgroups and interactions • Share with providers all DHS-DFCS communications (i.e., GaScore) • Georgia Conference on Children and Families (GCCF) – Nov. 2-4 in Augusta • Coordinate the Quarterly New Provider Orientation with ORC, DFCS, DJJ and Empowerment • Annual executive retreat – Commissioner attended • Connecting DHS staff and community providers as needed • Always a resource for problem-solving best solutions!
