  1. Publisher Software Newsletter to Parents

  2. Find an article Locate an article on the internet that you think will be interesting to parents. You will then write a brief summary of the article for your newsletter.

  3. To start Publisher • Click Start • Click All Programs • Click Microsoft Office • Click Microsoft Office Publisher 2007Note: If you do not have Publisher at home you might have to come to school and do it here.

  4. Select Your Newsletters • On the left column select Newsletters • Choose a template (a preview of the template will show in the upper left corner. • Click Create in the bottom left corner.

  5. Remove the extra pages. • There are four pages by default. All we need is one. • To remove page 4, right click on page 4 and select “Delete Page” and answer “Yes” to delete page. • Repeat for pages 2-3 and select to delete both pages.

  6. Add a Title to your Newsletter • Highlight the Newsletter Title and type your own title. It could be something like “Preschool News” or “Ms. Kathy’s Class”.

  7. Add a story headline • Highlight the Lead Story Headline and replace it with your own headline about the article your summarizing.

  8. Add your Summary • Click anywhere in the story to highlight it. Click delete to erase the story and replace it with your summary. • You can type it in here or if you’ve used Word you can copy and paste the summary here.

  9. Change the Image • Click on the image and press delete on the keyboard to remove the current image. • Click on Insert, Picture, From ClipArt. Find a picture you want to use and click on it to insert it. Drag it to where you want it to go.
