  8. 2 Middle floor – The story of the Jewish people Major theme: The unique and ongoing story of the Jewish people from the destruction of the First Temple to the present Rationale: To show visitors that Jewish history, including its most ancient chapters, is highly compelling and relevant for today Essential questions: What is the secret underlying the continuous vital and creative endurance of the Jewish people? What has changed in the wake of the Modern Era? Core topics: A – Diaspora: The story of dual Jewish centers from ancient time to the 18th century. B - Modern Era: The changes Jewish life and culture have undergone while embracing integration and civic rights.
