Intergroup Collaboration Against Sarcomas: Advancements in Targeted Therapeutics

The Intergroup Collaboration Against Sarcomas (ICAS) focuses on developing biologically targeted therapies for sarcomas, emphasizing histology-specific approaches. We aim to facilitate intergroup collaboration to enhance growth factor receptor expression studies, including EGF-R and PDGF-R in various sarcoma types. Notable findings include the expression of Her2 and Cox-2 in synovial sarcomas, leading to potential targeted interventions like trastuzumab and imatinib. Our goal is to redefine molecular strategies, improve primary management, and identify effective therapies to combat metastatic disease in sarcoma patients.
