Eco-Innovation Component • What • Main purpose of FRESH is to strengthen the RIS of the partnerregionsbyintegratingEco-Innovation into RIS of the region • FRESH proceeded in 2 ways: • first: regionalinteresttowardsectorbasedapproach on innovation – wheredo the regionswant to focus? • Second: through the exchance of goodpractices • to identify the methods and toolsthat • could help the eco-innovation component to happen

Eco-Innovation Component • Selection of the sectorwas made by the fourcriteria: • Competitivecriterias plus catchingupcriteria • Structure / form • The ecoinovation component wasoriginallyconceived in a verystraightforwardway, comprisingfourparts: • justification, standards, competencies, and projects in the field • Eachregion, supportedby PP3, wouldbemakingowncontent (of ecoinnovation) based on thisstructure • Turningpoint: FRESH synergy with the Smartspecialisationstrategy
