  1. Name of Planet What does the Planet name mean? Many planets were named after mythological Gods. You and Your Partner’s Names Period

  2. History • Who discovered your planet? When? How? Where? • Place a photo (with a caption) of the planet symbol and if possible, the discoverer as well.

  3. Solar System • Order from the sun. • Distance from the sun in km. • Orbital/Revolution period (how long is one trip around the sun?) • Rotation (How long does it take to rotate on its own axis, in hours or days?) • Place an photo on this slide that shows where your planet is located in relative to other planets.

  4. Planet Measurements • Size: How big is your planet?? (diameter) • Mass: What is your planets mass? • Gravity: What is the force of gravity at the surface? For example, what would a 100 pound person weigh on your planet. • Insert a photo (with a caption) of your planet.

  5. Composition, Atmosphere & Appearance • Describe the core and surface composition of your planet. • Describe the composition of the atmosphere if any. If your planet does not have an atmosphere, simply state your planet does not have one. • What does your planet look like? • Include a photo (with a caption) of the inside of your planet (found on the enchantedlearning.com website).

  6. Surface Conditions • List surface temperatures – coldest, hottest, average/range. • Describe the details about weather found on your planet. If you are doing Jupiter or Neptune, this is where you should show and tell about the large spot.

  7. Moons • How many moons does your planet have? • List moon names. • If your planet has no moons, add more pictures and captions instead.

  8. Put the name of the most interesting moon here • Tell us about this interesting moon. • Provide several facts. • Include a photo (with a caption). • Again, if your planet does not have moons, add more photos and captions.

  9. Rings • Provide information about the rings surrounding your planet. • Include a photo (with a caption) of the rings. • If your planet does not have rings, add more photos and descriptive captions.

  10. How would a human being fare on your planet? • On your planet would a person choke in the atmosphere, be squashed by the extreme gravity, float with ease, freeze, burn up, or something else?

  11. Something special slide? • Is there anything special about your planet? • Tell us about it and include a picture.

  12. Did you finish early? • Make your presentation “Over the Top” • Add more facts • Add more photos with descriptive captions • Add animations • Add an audio narration • Add supportive graphics • Delete THIS slide before turning in.

  13. Saving Your Work • Save to your network drive. • If you have a flash drive you may want to bring it in for back up. • Delete THIS slide before turning in.

  14. Turning in Your Presentation • When finished, alert Mrs. Young. • She will copy your presentation to a flash drive for grading. • If you have your own flash drive or a recordable CD, you can take home your presentation files. • WARNING – No points are awarded if your presentation gets “accidentally” deleted, does not save, gets lost, is at home, etc. YOU are responsible for your files. • Delete THIS slide before turning in.
