  2. Presentation Objectives • Provide an overview of SCT Banner • Discuss the MCC SCT Banner implementation project and timeline • MCC Banner updates

  3. What is Banner? • An upgrade to FRS, HRS, SIS and ADS • SCT Banner includes the following modules: • Finance • Human Resources • Advancement (Alumni/Development) • Student • Financial Aid • An integrated, database-driven information system (Oracle)

  4. What is Banner? • Banner is a web application • Available 24/7 via a web browser for access by students, faculty and staff • Point and click (GUI) interface • Uses SQL (structured query language) • Reporting software enhancement is BRIO • Provides more functionality for end users

  5. What is Banner? • All data reside in one database • Information shared among all applications • Will use generated IDs with SSN as a searchable alternate ID • Pushes functionality out of the IT area • Individuals can customize their views of Banner

  14. Project Scope:The Data • 3,000 vendors and over 8,100 fixed assets • 1,964 current employees • Average number of Fall term applicants = 10,184 • 3,363 Fall 2003 courses • 2,600 course sections • Average Fall student headcount = 17,771

  15. Project Scope:The Data • Average number of registration records for Fall term = 56,892 • 328,211 academic course records • Average number of Fall term Financial Aid recipients = 8,199 • 66,872 alumni • 138,475 MCCF gifts and pledges

Efforts to Date • SCT organizational structure established • SCT Banner contract/funding put into place • Purchased start-up technology and software • Oracle and Banner applications installed • Banner application seed data and test instances running on MCC’s servers • Banner training room established

  17. What’s Next? • Installation and training for BRIO reporting software • Completion of MCC and MCCF COAs • Finalize data standards document • Installation of Banner 6x • Continue data scrubbing • Continue training in functional modules • Provide updates to the College community
