One who subdues, conquers, prevails, exercises dominion, and has victory over things, behaviors, and beings resulting in pleasing God and being rewarded by Him. In so doing, one avoids the pitfalls of being overcome by things, behaviors, and beings which oppose God or are in conflict with his will, purposes, and commands.

He was stronger than the kingdom that Satan and demons represent and maintain. Jesus’s actions proved that. - Jesus also had the power to forgive sins!

For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth • sin, and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” • James 1:14-15 Satan’s tactics - deception and lies, division, diversion and discouragement are all defeated by the Word of God.

Jesus perfectly kept the entirety of the law, all 613 of them - 365 negative commandments (thou shalt not) - 248 positive commandments (what one must do) WE ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW !! • Jesus never committed sins of the flesh: • 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. • Galatians 5:19-21

How Do We Overcome? 13 There hath no temptation you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: butGod is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able, but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may able to bear it. 1 Corinthian 10:13 God has provided every means that is needed to overcome the world and sin as Jesus did !!!

  19. Rewards for being an Overcomer Rev 3:12 - Made a pillar in the temple of God - Name of God written upon him - God’s new name written upon him Rev 3:21 - Will sit with God in His throne Rev 21:7 - Shall inherit all things - Will be God’s son

Rewards for behaviors of Overcomers Hebrews 11:6 - God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him Matt. 6:6 & 6:18 … thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly Luke 6:23 - …your reward is great in heaven Luke 6:35 - …your reward shall be great Colossians 3:24 - …of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance

  21. Conclusion Luke 22:28-29 Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations, and I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my father hath appointed unto me.

Conclusion We are called and equipped to: • Overcome enemies of God; the principalities, darkness, • powers, and wickedness - Overcome sin - Overcome the love of money • Overcome the past and look forward to the prize of the • high calling of Christ • Overcome all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust • of the eyes, and the pride of life Overcome the world to the Glory of God !!!
