  3. Club Drugs • Club drugsare a loosely-defined category of recreational drugs which are associated with discothèques in the 1970s and dance clubs, parties, and raves in the 1980s to the 2000s.

  4. Different types of club drugs include • Ecstasy • GHB ( liquid ecstasy) • ketamine, or LSD, heroin • Methamphetamine (meth) • Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (acid) • Rohypnol (roofie)

  5. History of Club Drugs • In the mid 1970’s people started to use drugs in clubs to make dancing to the loud music more enjoyable, they mainly used cocaine, amyl, butyl and isobutyl nitrite • Different kinds of club drugs are used in different countries

  6. E f f e c t s • Cocaine, amyl nitrite, Quaalude, affects your motor coordination and makes your arms and legs feel like jell-o • Most club drugs have the same effect as alcohol has on the brain mechanisms
