Exploring Scatter Plots and Geometry in Grade 7 Mathematics Homework
In this homework assignment, students will engage with key concepts in patterns and relationships by exploring scatter plots. The tasks include finding the coordinates for points that form a star, determining the perimeter of a garden path using equilateral triangle paving stones, and constructing a scatter plot based on a toothpick pattern. Additionally, students will analyze the requirements for building a rail fence, applying their understanding of geometry and data representation. This assignment aims to reinforce their comprehension of mathematical relationships and graphing techniques.

Minds On…. Find the Coordinates for the points of the star Write them as (x,y)
Lesson 2: Section 4.5 Using a Scatter Plot to Represent a Sequence Grade 7: Chapter 4 Patterns and Relationships
WHAT IS A SCATTER PLOT? • A scatter plot is a type of graph that has a whole bunch of points on a grid.
How does it work? ? Priya is designing a path for the school garden. The path will have 30 equilateral triangle paving stones which line up to form a straight path. What is the perimeter if each side is 1 unit in length. 1 unit
How many Border Pieces will Priya need for the path? On each side of the path there will be border pieces. Each border piece is half as long as one side of a triangle stone. 1 unit
LETS EXTRAPOLATE HOW MANY BORDER PIECES DID SHE NEED?
