WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT PSORIASIS SKIN DISEASE?

Psoriasis refers to a chronic autoimmune condition that leads to the quick buildup of skin cells. This increase in cells causes scaling on the skin surface. And eventually, you experience inflammation and redness around the scales. Usually, the psoriasis scales are whitish-silver and form in thick, red patches, Sometimes, these patches crack and then bleed. http://bit.ly/2rySdBg

  1. But what is the cause of psoriasis skin disease? Psoriasis occurs as a result of a speed-up skin production process. Usually, skin cell grows deep in the skin and then slowly comes to the surface. And eventually, they fall off. So, when it comes to typical life cycle of skin, it usually is one month. People suffering from psoriasis often experience the production process occurring in just a few days because of which, the skin cells don’t have much time to decrease in number. This quick overproduction of cells results in the building up of skin cells. These scales usually develop on joints, like elbows and knees. However, it can develop anywhere in the body, like:

  2. Feet Hands Scalp Neck Face Doctors are still not clear about what causes psoriasis. However, thanks to decades of research, they have a general idea of two crucial factors: firstly, the genetics and secondly, the immune system. People inherit genes that make them more probable to develop psoriasis. So if you have an immediate family member with psoriasis skin condition, your risk of falling prey to psoriasis becomes higher. However, the percentage of people who develop psoriasis and a genetic tendency is quite small. Psoriasis is an auto-immune condition. Autoimmune conditions are actually the result of the body attacking itself. In case of psoriasis, while blood cells known as T-cells wrongly attack the skin cells. In a typical body, white blood cells are responsible to attack and destroy the incoming bacteria and combat potential infections. But the mistaken attack causes the skin cell production process to proceed rapidly. This speed-up skin ell production causes new skin cells to form too quickly and they are pushed to the skin surface, where they get piled up. This results in plaques that are most commonly linked with psoriasis. Psoriasis has no cure and its treatment reduces inflammation and scales, reduces the growth of skin cells, and eliminates plaques. And if applying ointment and skin creams doesn’t provide you relief, it is time to visit a skin doctor in Kolkata.
