Financial Aid Stay Informed about your financial aid by regularly checking your myUTTyler & Patriot email account • Outstanding documents, Reminders, Award Notices, Loan Disbursement Notices, etc. • Revised Award Notices are sent for adjusted award amounts • Counselors may request additional documents for clarification

  4. Inceptia.org If your FAFSA application is selected for verification by the U.S Department of Education, you will receive an introductory email to the email address you provided on the FAFSA. If no email was provided, you will receive an introductory postcard. A link to Verification Gateway will be included with the email or postcard. You will need to use the link to do the following: • Confirm your identity • Create a username and password • Access your Action List and begin the verification process. Inceptia is also used by UT Tyler to process special circumstances requests, for details please contact the financial aid office

  5. Types of Financial Aid Grants – need based funding from the State, Federal, and Institutional sources. • Grant money is not required to payed back except in special situations. Work Study – Part time employment that pays out as the student work • Students are required to apply for, interview, and be hired for an eligible job. Loans – Federal loans offered based on yearly and lifetime limits. • Loan funds are required to be paid back, require a Master Promissory Notes and Entrance Loan Counseling. • If not interested in the Direct Stafford Unsubsidized Loan and/or the Estimated Graduate PLUS Loan: • First, decline the loan(s) • Second, you may seek outside alternative loan funding • Lender will have to be search for based on your own research • UT Tyler does not have a list preferred lenders

Additional Information Needed for the Estimated Graduate PLUS Loan Offer: • Graduate PLUS Loan Offer • New beginning Summer 2019 • Offering of an Estimated Graduate PLUS Loan • Student must apply for the Graduate PLUS Loan on studentloans.gov to be considered for an actual Graduate PLUS Loan each academic year • Must complete this in order for a new credit check to be performed by Direct Loans • May need to complete a new Master Promissory Note for the new loan • More detailed information will come in your Award Notice email upon awarding

  7. Accepting and Declining Awards Accept or decline your financial aid via myUTTyler. Go to: • myUTTyler • Student Center • Accept/Decline Awards • Choose what you want to accept or decline • Submit

Reminders • File your taxes • Complete your FAFSA or TASFA early and accurately • Apply for Financial Aid & Scholarships SEPERATLEY • Do Not pay for assistance with FAFSA, TASFA, or scholarship applications • Keep copies of all correspondences with the Federal Processor and the School • Check your myUTTyler and Patriots email regularly
