Objectives • General objective :SWBAT read a book ‘Accept and Value each person’ and identify five ways people are different in attitudes. • Language objective :SWBAT know the definitions of words such as accept,value respect forgive.They will do a picture analysis. • Civic objective: SWBAT explain how to solve cultural conflicts and disputes.

Aim of using the chart • Aim: This chart helped students to talk about different types of people at the beginning of the lesson.By using this chart they’ve learnt that people are different in attitudes. • I learnt: Students’ opinions are different and this chart was a good way to express their points of view.

  6. Introducing of word definitions from the textbook”Accept and value each person”

Word definitions • TO FEEL ACCEPTED—it is a feeling of belonging or being OK just a way you are. • VALUE– if you value something about someone, you appreciate it and think it’s important. • FORGIVE—when you forgive someone, you decide not to feel hurt. • RESPECT—when you respect people , you show that you think they are important.

  10. Aim of “Ready Vocabulary” • Aim: To introduce new words for students. • I learnt: The process of introducing new text is much simpler when students have ready vocabulary.

  11. “ Accept and value each person” • This book introduces diversity and related concepts: respecting differences, being inclusive and appreciating people just the way they are.

  12. Introducing the textbook • I was introducing the textbook to students. • They were too motivated to understand the content of the book. • It grabbed their attention at the beginning.

LESSON PLAN AND TIME MANAGEMENT • Warm-up –Draw the KWL chart on the board and ask students how we can get along people with different abilities.Students respond and I will fill in the chart,but only two columns K and W-10 mins. • Activity l/pre-reading –Introduce them the new vocabulary connected to the text and definitions of new words.Students will read and learn these words-9mins. • Activityll/while-reading –Students will read the text ‘Accept and value each person’.We will discuss about the pictures which are in the text too-15mins.

  15. Activitylll/After reading –Ask students to fill in the last column of KWL chart and tell us what they have learned from the text-5mins. • Assessment-Ask students to summarize once more what they learned in the L column of the chart-5mins. • Closure-Collect textbooks-1min.
