  4. Why Meet Together? James 5:16 “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

  5. God has Given us the Power to Heal and Wants us to be Healed

  6. Jesus’ Ministry Mathew 8:16 “When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.” Hebrews 13:8 “ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

  7. Power of Touch Mark 8: 22-25 “And they came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to him a blind man and begged him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?” And he looked up and said, “I see men, but they look like trees, walking.” Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again; and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. Acts 28:8 “His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer, placed his hands on him and healed him.”

Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Mathew 10:1, 10:8 “Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authorityto drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.” “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.”

Our Authority to Heal Mark 16: 17-18 “And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” *They weren't praying and asking God to heal people, they had the authority to heal

  10. Do you Want to be Healed? John 5: 1-7 “Afterward Jesus returned to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish holy days. Inside the city, near the Sheep Gate, was the pool of Bethesda, with five covered porches. Crowds of sick people—blind, lame, or paralyzed—lay on the porches.One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” 9At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.

  12. How did Jesus Release Power? Words! *Jesus spoke the earth into existence, created stars, wind and waves died down, blind eyes opened, sickness left..etc. * Think about how even the words of the gospel are so powerful they change lives by being preached.

Jesus Healed with Words Mathew 8: 5 “When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?” The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. Psalm 107:19-20 “Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

  14. The Disciples Healed with Words Acts 3: 6-8 “When Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person.” Psalm 139: 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!

  20. Why we Need to Search our Hearts Mark 11: 22-23 “And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.” Proverbs 4:23 “Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life.”

  21. What does our heart have to do with Healing? Acts 28:27 “For this people's heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.” *If we let doubt, fear, sin etc. come into our hearts it can prevent God from moving

  22. How do we Guard our Hearts? With God’s Words! Proverbs 4:20-22 “My child, be attentive to mywords; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.” John 1:1 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

  23. How do we Guard Our Hearts? Psalm 119:11 I have hidden yourword in my heart that I might not sin against you. Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

  24. We Need to Trust God and His Word for our Healing Proverbs 3: 5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Isaiah 55: 11 “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”

Let us Leave Here Speaking Gods Word in Faith Mathew 21:22 “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” 2 Corinthians 4:13 “Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak.”

  26. Jeremiah 17:14 Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.
