Who Takes The OLPA-grades 3-8 • ALL Grade 3-8 students • May use Text-to-Speech (TTS) • Accommodations for some grade 3-8 students • ONLY Accommodated Text-to-Speech (ATTS) for ELs and Special Ed students with ATTS listed in their IEPs for the OLPA or MCAs may use ATTS. • No paper scripts • No paper, large print or Braille tests • No MTAS or Math-Modified tests

  3. Results: AIR Online Report System • Results are available immediately after test is completed • Who can access the results? • Principals • SACs • Homeroom teachers AND • Mathematics teachers • DACs will notify SACs when rosters are available in AIR Online Reporting System (ORS)

Gateway site to all assessment tasks • One username & password for all secure sites within the portal • May be accessed from any computer • Use only Firefox browser! • Used by: (everyone!) • District Assessment Coordinators (DAC) • School Assessment Coordinators (SAC) • Test Monitors • Technology Coordinators • Families and Students (Item Samplers, Tutorials, Learning Point Navigator)

  6. Online Assessments Responsibilities: • Information Technology is responsible for the hardware & software that will be used for online assessments. IF you have technology problems, • Create an ONLINE TESTING ticket • Contact your DAC and explain the problem • School Assessment Coordinators are responsible for scheduling, organizing, starting and closing test sessions. • Monitors (and/or SACs) are responsible for starting the tests, actively monitoring students during the test and closing a test session.

  19. TIDEManage Users • School Assessment Coordinator (SAC) access is created by DAC • DAC must create your back-up user with SAC permissions • SAC creates Test Monitor with Reporting (TMR) access for your building

  20. Manage Users - Add monitors SACs give monitors user rights based on the User Roles and Access to Minnesota Assessments Systems Provided by AIR (2013–2014) Located in AIR Resources: General Resources section

Usernames and Passwords for AIR • SAC/Monitor's computer ('Testing Server’ is not required) • mnstateassessments.org • Go to TIDE  Manage Users • Username is always the SPPS e-mail address • Temporary password is whatever AIR sends via e-mail to the new user/monitor • From: MNHelpDesk, Subject: User Account Information • Monitor will receive instructions in an email for how to change their password

School Assessment Coordinator Test Monitor Certification • What is it? • - - Interactive course to certify test monitors • Loads and runs directly from A.I.R. site • Roughly 20 minutes in length • REQUIRED for ALL test monitors • AIR tracks who is certified to monitor the tests • Must be 'certified' & complete Non-Disclosure in TIDE in order to run the tests!

Go to: mnstateassessments.org > Item Samplers > Online Item Samplers > Online Item Samplers > click ‘Sign In’ > choose Grade > choose Sampler > choose Settings if needed • Hands on experience using online tools – i.e. strikethrough, highlight, etc. • Technology enhanced items on MCAs – i.e. drag and drop, graphing, etc.

TEST SECURITY ISSUES • Nondisclosure Agreements • Everyone with secure access to AIR must complete the online nondisclosure form in TIDE. • Test Monitors & data entry personnel must accept the agreement in TIDE or they will not be able to monitor tests or enter student responses. • Everyone with access to the test items but who does not have secure access to AIR needs to sign a paper version of the Nondisclosure Agreement.

TEST SECURITY ISSUES cont. • ITEMS ARE SECURE AND MAY NOT BE REPRODUCED IN ANY WAY BY ANYONE!! • No cell phone cameras to take pictures of items! • No emails or discussions in online social media about items! • No discussions of items with any fellow staff members! • No exceptions! Provide this information to all school staff even if they are not directly involved with testing.

  42. TEST SECURITY ISSUES cont. • Monitors have to be impartial observers • Monitors may not read the items • Monitors must be trained in security procedures • Monitors should take questions about an item to the SAC, the SACs should contact their DAC

Computer Glitches & Restarts • If a student is kicked off the system: • Browser shuts down after 20 minutes of inactivity • Student simply logs back in with current session ID • If SAC or Monitor session is stopped or logged off: • SAC/Monitor starts a new session and students • log back in using the new session code. • The test will pick up where student left off. • The student's test and responses are linked to their • MARSS number, not to the session code.

  45. Training Test Monitors •Test Session Security • Provide student MARSS numbers and first name as it is on CAMPUS/AIR • MARSS numbers are secure information and must be collected and shredded • Maintain test security during entire test session

Training Test MonitorsDistrict Policies & Procedures • What are the procedures for starting and ending the testing sessions? • What is the policy regarding a student who may need additional testing time? • What is the policy regarding students when they have finished testing (e.g., return to class, read a library book)? • What is the policy for restroom breaks and illness? • What is the policy for fire drills or weather-related issues?

  48. Install the new secure browser on student computers, cont. To install A.I.R. Secure Browser 6.2 icon, login to each student computer with: Username: air Password: air Wait…then look for the icon on the student desktop. This could take a few minutes (5-10?).
