NOVOZYMES PRESENTATION Making LCA output consumer relevant Annual electricity saving in Denmark 0.15 kwh · 433 million washes/year = 65 million kwh Annual electricity saving in EU: 0.15 kwh · 27 billion washes/year = 4.1 billion kwh A household can save around 30% on electricity per wash and increase in detergent prices are covered. If all Europeans reduced washing temperature from 40°C to 30°C, the continent could save electricity equivalent of two major power plants.
