Agenda • Requests are being sent to NIS Security • Nebraska Directory Services (NDS) portal for single sign-on • Business Process Owners (BPO) approval procedure • Future automation of security requests and BPO approval • Disable / Termination of NIS User ID’s • More functional areas to the NIS User Authorization (User Master) • Q & A

  3. Requests are being sent to NIS Security • New delivery route • Reduce the workload of the Help Desk • Shorten turnaround time • Tracking of submitted requests • Add Agency number and some notation on the subject line to make this request unique • Notation example: Sept 12.1

  4. NDS portal for single sign-on • Delayed for future implementation • Starting in January 2008 some agencies will start the resetting of passwords • Password reset will be rolled out to other agencies later

  5. Business Process Owners (BPO) approval procedure • AP AR GL HR GP BD FA IV PT CM roles 20 or above will need to be approved by BPO’s • BPO’s may contact AA’s for questions • Separate the requests that need BPO approval from the ones do not to expedite the process • Highlight the roles requested in yellow • Approved roles are highlighted in green by NIS Security • Denied roles are highlighted in red by NIS Security

  6. Future automation of security requests and BPO approval • Development of automated Authorized Agent requests on NIS • BPO approval process will be automated • Timeline • Training provided before go-live

  7. Disable / Termination of NIS User ID’s • Run report “Address Book = X with a User ID” • Remember to disable User Id immediately and submit request to terminate User ID • Watch for future termination dates • Watch for other agency’s User ID

  8. More functional areas to the NIS User Authorization (User Master) • Working to expand the NIS User Authorization ( User Master ) to show newer roles like CM and other agency specific roles

  9. Organizational Changes of NIS Security • NIS Security ( two staff members ) is now part of NIS team • Ruilin is transferring back to State Accounting working with Master Lease/Bank Reconciliation • Vacancy will be filled
