  2. Background As cannabis gets attention throughout the decade, people have been getting exposed to this plant more than ever. Over 30 states in the United States have already legalized medical marijuana and 10 of those states legalized recreational use as well. Other countries such as Canada and Uruguay also legalized cannabis for medicinal and recreational use, and recently even here in the CNMI, cannabis has been fully legalized. A lot of people have already been using cannabis and is on the verge of being a mainstream product. The student researcher believes that this plant will be everywhere soon, and it is important to have reliable information about this plant such as its different types of cannabis, the effects it can give and different ways it can be used.

  3. Methodology The claims in this research project supported by information gathered from the internet. The student researcher can use different types of sources, sources such as academic and non-academic are listed down below. • “Cannabis Regulations Ease as Public Opinion Shifts (2019)” by Canada Newswire. • This literature expands the thesis of the student researcher by giving some insights of its history, its uses, and the potential of cannabis. • “What do we know about the impact of the laws related to marijuana? (2017)” by Maxwell & Mendelson. • The student researcher will use this literature to explain how laws can affect the use of cannabis, whether it’s for recreational or medicinal purposes. • “Highs and Lows of Cannabis (2004)” published by The Lancet. • This literature is for expanding the thesis by giving out examples of the bad and good of using cannabis

  4. Methodology II The student researcher will also conduct a survey bout cannabis. The survey will consists 10 questions and will be distributed to almost 40 of the student researcher’s peers that are currently attending the Northern Marianas College. Some of the question in the survey are listed down below. • Are you or are you not in favor of cannabis being legalized for medicinal and recreational use here in the CNMI? and why? • What do you think about people using cannabis in public? • Why do you think people use cannabis? • Would you recommend cannabis to those who use or addicted to cigarette? • What do you think will happen to cannabis here in the CNMI in the near future?

  5. Conclusion The student researcher trusts the importance of knowing the good and the bad side of cannabis is important to make a better decision for those who want to get involve. The student researcher will look for literature, surveys, and other type of sources to support his claims. He hopes that this research will guide the readers to have a good experience with cannabis.
