PotentialCustomers • Lahti and Lappeenrantareceivearound 350 exchangestudentsfromallaroundtheworldeveryyear, plus foreignmaster’sstudents. • Lappeenranta does have a healthy winter tourism industry, due to snow activities and the Saimaa lake. In total, Lappeenranta has around two million visitors a year. • Lahtiisalso a popular traveldestination, becausethecityhas excellentskiingfacilities. • Finland has 6.1 millions of visitors per year, and theywouldliketoseeNothernLights. • Facebook page with 800 memberswho are interested in seeingNothernLights.

  3. Digitraffic Open Data • Digitraffic is a service offering real time and historical information and data about the traffic on the Finnish main roads. • The data sources are the Travel Time System and the automatic measuring devices (LAM) of the Finnish Transport Agency, road weather stations, road surface pictures. • The travel times are collected from 3300 km of Finnish main road and congested road stretches around the biggest cities. • For using Digitrafficyou just have to make an agreement with Finnish Transport Agency (FTA).

  4. Matka Open Data • Matka.fi is an online travel guide for public transport in Finland. Matka.fi allows users to search for the best public transport connections between two selected locations. • The service includes all buses, trams, metro, commuter trains, and ferries. • Matka.fi suggests the most suitable connections available at the given time. • Access to the interfaces is requested on the account request form. • The data is provided by the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment.

The Finnish Meteorological Institute's open data • The Finnish Meteorological Institute share: • weather, marine and climate observations • weather radar images and lightning observations • data for national weather forecasting and marine models. • Use of data requires registration • Three types of data sets: real-time observations, time series and forecasts.
