  1. Sustainable Consumption and Production

  2. The incandescent light bulb • Source: http://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gl%C3%B8delampe

  3. Facts about the incandescent light bulb • About 5 % of the energy is transformedinto light. • In order to spare the environment it is nowprohobited to useindescendant light bulbs. • The halogen bulbcantransformthree times more of the energyinto light than the indescendant light bulb.

  4. The future of the lightbulb • Smaller, more hidden. • Direct light from outside. • Wireless. • LED light. • Pixel-siced.

  5. Bulbsurvey This diagram shows howmanybulbseach person of ourclassuse in theirhome. Despite a ban of the 15 % of all bulbs in thissurveyareincandescent light bulbs.

  6. How wegetourenergy 40% of the worldselectricitycomes from coal. The largestcoal plant is (here) in Poland. Everyyear it produces 27-28 TWh of electricity. 800g of CO2 is released pr. KWh of electricity. 55% of the energy in the coal is a waste. Thereareseveralways to transport coal to a coalpowerplant. Much of ourenergyalsocomes from solarcells and windpower. The demand for green energy in Denmark is increasing.

  7. The future of coal: Increasedeffenciensy. Running out of coal in storing CO2 in the earth. The most envorementalfriendly power plant is Avedøreværket in Denmark. It is estimatedthatwewill run out of coal in year 2160.

  8. History of Windmills • What is known as the firstautomaticwindmillwasbuilt by Charles F. Brush in 1887. It wasable to produce 12 kW. • In the 1980´s a normal windmillcouldproduceabout 22 kW, but now a windmillcanproduce 6 MW. • Witinsomeyears it is estimatedthatwindmillswillbeable to produce 20 MW. • In conclusiontheyareimprovingrapidly. • Within 2030 it is expectedthathalf of the danishenergysupplieswillcome from wind power.

  9. The future of windmills: Windmills in citys, and rooftops. Windmillsgrowtaller. Altitudechanging. Lessnoising. Slower.

  10. Funny facts aboutwindmills • Windmillskillabout 20,000 birdseachyear. • The earliestwindmillswerefound in iran. • Nowadays the blades of somewindmillsarelargerthan a footballfield. • One wind turbine canproduceenoughenergy for approximately 250 homes.

  11. Water use In Denmark weusewatereveryday. One person usesapproximately 130 liters a day, or 46 cubicmeters a year. It takes 1500 Liters in order to growone kilo of wheat but it takes ten times as muchotmake a kilo of cowmeat.

  12. The cars Petrol is getting more expensivearound the world. There is almostnooilleft in the world. Wearegetting more people in the world.

  13. The electriccar • The electriccar is flameable and it need to recarge all the time. • Youcan have solarcells on yourcar.

  14. The danishenergy agreement. Wewillproduce more windmills offshore and onshore. Conversion to renewableenergy in buildings and industry. Increasedfocus on usingenergy more efficiently. Support for wave power projects. Increasedfocus on biogas, particularthroughfinancial support. Increasedfocus on district heating. Citizens and companieswillbesubject to environmental taxas for 3,5 billion danishcrowns. In 2020 CO2pollution should be 34% less than in 1990. 35% of all energy must come from renewable energy in 2020. Long-term goal: In 2020 the entire energy supply will consist of renewable energy.

  15. Report: At Hansenberg Gymnaiumwe have made reportaboutenergysources, and howtheseeffect the environment. We have fourcopys for each country, ifthere is a demand for more, youare more thanwelcome to ask Morten Jørgensen to send you a copy.
