What is a Foundation Degree? • Two-year qualification, broadly equivalent to first two years of an Honours Degree • Option to ‘top-up’ to full honours degree • Vocational focus • Newcastle College Foundation Degrees are designed in conjunction with employers to develop practical skills and knowledge required by employers

  2. Entry Requirements • Varies from institution to institution, but often vocational equivalents may be accepted rather than A-levels. Prior experience may also be taken into account. • Newcastle College generally require 160 UCAS points and Maths and English GCSE at grade C or higher, or functional skills level 2 • Creative Industries courses generally look for 120-160 UCAS points plus portfolio/interview/audition

Part Time • Part-time study is often popular with adult learners who intend to juggle the degree alongside full-time employment or childcare commitments. • Choosing to study a foundation degree or honours degree top-up part time impacts upon how much money a student is entitled to from Student Finance England. • If students wish to go part-time at Newcastle College, they will not have to go through the UCAS application process, and can apply directly through our website. • At Newcastle College part-time students can expect to pay just £4,000 per year.
