  1. HARUN YAHYA(1956-)

  2. Presented by NursyazatulNabihahLaili Nor HazirahMohdGhazali LiyanaHarun Nora HanomAmran Edited by Dr. Md. MahmudulHasan International Islamic University Malaysia 2011

  3. His Early Life… • Harun Yahya (Adnan Oktar) was born in Ankara in 1956. • His devotion to Islamic moral values started to grow strong during his high school years. He deepened his profound knowledge of Islam by reading works of great scholars. • He devotes his entire life to sharing his views on the existence and unity of God and the graces of the Qur’anic morals with other people. Starting from his university years, he has spent every moment of his life, serving to this cause and never dreaded facing difficulties.

  4. His Teenage Years… • He entered Istanbul’s MimarSinan University in 1979 coming in third from among thousands of candidates. • The University at that time was under the influence of various Marxist-communist organizations, and aggressive atheist and materialist trends swayed students as well as the academic staff. • Indeed, some members of the teaching staff would seize every opportunity to propagandize on behalf of materialist philosophy and Darwinism, even though these subjects had nothing to do with the curriculum.

  5. His Teenage Years… • Religion and moral values had no place at the campus. But HarunYahya began telling those around him about the invalidity of Darwinism and about the existence and oneness of God. • HarunYahya would sleep only a few hours and spend the rest of his time reading, taking notes and writing. He read hundreds of works including those dealing with Marxism, Leninism, Maoism, communism and materialist philosophy, and carried out detailed studies of the classics as well as more seldom-read texts.

  6. Supporters/Followers… • He spoke to everyone, university students and staff alike, about the existence and oneness of God and the moral values of the Qur’an. • For more than three years, there was not a single one to support his views, which, however, did not dwarf his commitment. He knew that God was his sole Companion and he did all this to earn His good pleasure.

  7. Supporters/Followers… • In 1982, for the first time, a few young people decided to support his ideological struggle. As months and years passed by, the number of young people embracing the same views increased. • His main ambition was to guide them in being honorable people. From 1982 to 1984, a group of 20-30 young people was formed.

  8. Supporters/Followers… • He started talking with young people, who were then attending private high schools in Istanbul, about moral values. • Then he enrolled at a new faculty, new university – Istanbul University – to study philosophy.

  9. Press • His name appeared in Nokta (The Point) magazine for the first time in 1986 and thus he became known to people. • Then many newspaper headlines carried his name. HarunYahya, who spread the message of Islam across the section of a secular society, was understandably a surprising element for the media.

  10. The Mental Hospital… • In the late 1980s, HarunYahya was arrested and imprisoned. Then, he was transferred to Bakirkoy Mental Hospital and placed under observation on the pretext that he was mentally unwell. • For a certain period of time, he was chained to bed by his ankles and exposed to cruel treatments. By force, he was given drugs that would blur consciousness. • Yahya was held in prison and mental hospital for a total of 19 months and then acquitted and released in the early 1990s by the court since his statements were found to be inoffensive.

  11. Harun Yahya… • He has by far written lots of articles, books, etc. • BAV has organized hundreds of conferences on creationism in Turkey and worldwide (he’s the founder of BAV - BilimAraştırmaVakfı or Science Research Foundation). • Built a large publishing enterprisewith publications sold through Islamic bookstores worldwide. • In 2010, he was selected as one of the top fifty of The 500 Most Influential Muslims in the World by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre of Jordan for his interpretation and dissemination of creationism in an Islamic context, and other extensively distributed publications on Islamic topics.

  12. Darwinism & Theory of Evolution Darwinism is a movement that brought forth the idea of evolution. Evolution is a theory that explains mutation, combination and variation that presumably happened to living things: animals, flowers, plants and human beings.

  13. Evolution: A Theory without Scientific Proof Branches of science such as paleontology, genetics, biochemistry, and molecular biology have proven that it is quite impossible for life to come about as a result of chance and to emerge by itself from natural conditions. Examples: Living cell (mitochondria, ribosomes, cell membranes, or the endoplasmic reticulum – these are made by amino acid and building blocks of protein) . DNA is a complex coding system with 3.5 billion units containing all the details of life.

  14. Living cell and DNA with very much of complex creature have never had an explanation that supports any form of evolving, as they remain different from one person to another but both had never evolve. • Francis Crick, a Nobel-prize laureate, believes in the theory of molecular evolution, but eventually even he had to admit that such a complex molecule could not have emerged spontaneously by chance, as the result of an evolutionary process: • “An honest man, armed with all the knowledge available to us now, could only state that, in some sense, the origin of life appears at the moment to be almost a miracle.”

  15. Variation of Races Darwinists argue: "Since Adam’s and Eve's height, colour, and other features were those of only two people, how could races with entirely different features have emerged?“ HarunYahya responds: -As a result of breeding between those individuals, that genetic information comes together in later generations in different combinations. -There is an exchange of genetic material between the mother's and father's chromosomes. -Genes thus get mixed up with one another. The result of this is a wide variety of individual features. -No matter what their height, skin colours and skull volumes, all races are part of the human species. Conclusion: Despite being different, humans are still from one species, human being.

  16. Relevant Qur’anic verses Your Lord is God Who created the heavens and the earth in six days (periods)and then settled Himself firmly on the Throne. He covers the daywith the night, each pursuing the other urgently; and the sun andmoon and stars are subservient to His command. Both creation andcommand belongs to Him. Blessed be God, the Lord of all the worlds. (Qur'an, 7: 54 ) Explanation: This clearly shows the power of God Who creates everything as He wants. Nobody has the right to question His power and His will of how His creations were made.

  17. God created every animal from water. Some of them go on theirbellies, some of them on two legs, and some on four. God createswhatever He wills. God has power over all things. (Qur'an, 24: 45) And He created livestock. There is warmth for you in them, and various uses and some you eat. (Qur'an, 16: 5) Explanation: God has created the animals which are different from one another. For example, there are different types of fish. However, they belong to one family. Crocodiles, platypus, frogs, etc. did not evolve from frog and then become platypus and from platypus to crocodile. It just happened to be that with Allah’s will, He created these different types of animals and there is no sign of mutation, variation or combination in the genes of these living beings.

  18. Beavers Skilful Dam Constructor

  19. Beavers Skilful Dam Constructor Karim is a young boy who enjoys sports and reading books and also has great interest in animals. He also enjoys the spring camp they go to every year. This year at the camp, Karim meets Mr. and Mrs. Beaver. As you read this book, you will learn about beavers along with Karim. You will see that, thanks to the skill they possess from birth, Karim's new friends can design an amazing home for themselves, which is in fact a quite difficult and complicated task. Who gives them this knowledge of engineering and these skills? In this book, you will see that there is only one answer to this question. There is a Supreme Power Who teaches them all these things. This power belongs to God, Who created everything including us.

  20. The Evolutionist theories 1. Evolutionist believed that the present characteristics all animal possess have been passed down from their supposed ancestors. 2. The Evolutionists sometimes claim that animals acquire some forms of behavior through experience.

  21. So how can we explain animal behaviors and instinct, so often observed in nature?

  22. Beavers build their dams of plant matter and stones, in a manner similar to their nests. First they weave branches across the water between the two banks of a stream, forming an interwoven triangular structure. In order to fill in the structure's gaps and raise its height, they work against the current and keep on adding branches and mud, until their dam has finally transformed a narrow stream into a wide pool of calm water. Widening and deepening the water provides them with an ideal environment where they can store food for the winter, as well as area for them to swim freely and more easily transport food and building materials. In addition, it also creates a wide, safe moat around the beavers' lodges that, just like the moat surrounding a human castle, makes it almost impossible for predators to attack them.

  23. There is no creature on the earth which is not dependent upon God for its provision. He knows where it lives and where it dies. There are all in a Clear Book. (Hud: 6)
