  4. Causes of 1905 Russian Revolution (18.3) • Russo-Japanese war caused it • Russia was defeated by the tiny newly modernized nation of Japan • Caused the people to lose faith in the Czar/Government. People felt they had no power • Russia is the ONLY nation to still have an absolute monarch
