Remote Service Delivery National Partnership Agreement (2009): • Outcome 1: “Standards of services and infrastructure to be comparable with non-Indigenous communities of similar size, location and need elsewhere in Australia” Working Future and Territory Growth Towns policy (2009): • Part 1: “Twenty remote communities will become proper towns, with services, buildings and facilities like any other country town in Australia. These towns will become the economic and service delivery centres for their regions.”

  4. One example (of many) – land administration • All Growth Towns to have Town Plans (Area Plans and Zoning) gazetted under the Planning Act by the end of 2011 (commenced) • All Growth Towns to have street names and addresses by the end of 2011 (commenced) • All Growth Towns to have full cadastral surveys by 2012 (commenced) • All Growth Towns to have urban design concept plans by the end of 2011 (commenced) • All Growth Towns to have staff housing sub-divisions identified by the end of 2011 financial year (commenced) • ILIS to be updated to include detailed parcel information in Growth Towns and clearly show sub-lease interests
