  5. Work Experience Education ProgramValencia High School

  6. Who is the Class For? • Seniors or Juniors • Sixteen years or older • Must be working at a job at least 10 hours per week • Students wishing a class that prepares them for a career

  7. The Benefits of Being in Work Experience • School Credit up to 10 credits • Can work more hours and make more money • Valuable career and lifestyle information in class • Scholarship Opportunities • Work Experience added to your portfolio

  8. Requirements • Must be employed and paid at least minimum wage • Employer must have workers compensation insurance • Must work at least 10 verified hours per week • Must attend class twice a week on campus • Must complete all course work

  9. WEEP Students May Work: • 48 hours per week(8 hours of overtime) • Until 12:30 AM With parent permission • May begin work at 1:00 PM • May not work over 8 hours per day!!!

  10. Be Sure to Have a Current Work Permit on File Work Permit Applications can be obtained in and returned to Room 510.
