This presentation explores two competing designs for a conference room display: a Kindle-based model and an Android-based model. The Kindle-based design features an E-Ink screen, Wi-Fi, and a battery, offering very low power consumption. However, its SDK is not freely available, requiring significant experimentation. In contrast, the Android-based design uses an LCD screen, is easy to program with freely available SDK, and has no dominant tablet platform. We also discuss potential power solutions such as solar power, batteries, and power adapters.
