  11. CMHC and Russia • Long history, including CIDA project 1998-2002 on transition to market housing: building codes, demonstrations, training, housing finance • In 2002 Canada helped Russia develop a building code for wood frame buildings similar to that in Canada

Canadian Wood Frame in Russia • Construction of a wood frame demonstration house in Tver with CMHC in 1993. • Four demomonstration houses built in the Russia Far East ( Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Yuzhno Sakhalin, Yakutsk) and in Rostov, European Russia. • Assistance with harmonized codes and standards.
