  1. The Service Learning Program is designed to provide pass/fail credit for performing pre-arranged volunteer service in the community while gaining new skills. Students must be able to commit to at least 65 volunteer hours for each .5 credit, including a written summary to be completed outside of the volunteer time. The volunteer worksite can be at a neighbor’s property, a relative property, or elsewhere in the community but not at home. Volunteers cannot be paid, this class is designed to encourage students to reach outside themselves to do good deeds in their community or for their neighbors and relatives. Examples: Neighborhood trash pickup Yard help/landscaping Pet care House cleaning Service Learning
