  1. Broadcast Video Productions Class Configuration:BVP III

  2. Learning Objective 1 ACCT-BVP3-1. Students will demonstrate independent technical skills and techniques in broadcasting and video production. a. Demonstrate effective control and utilize design elements to match a target audience. b. Demonstrate advanced editing techniques. c. Demonstrate advanced special effects for video and audio. (e.g. compose and render advanced computer graphics and animation). d. Export final product (e.g. multimedia formatting).

  3. Learning Objective 2 ACCT-BVP3-2. Students will collaborate effectively in group media production. a. Exercise leadership on behalf of the common good over a collaborative experience by utilizing the strengths of each individual in a group production. b. Work collaboratively to produce and direct location and/or studio segments. c. Collaborate to complete post-production tasks (e.g. graphics, audio sweetening and editing).

  4. Smart Start • Sit in your assigned seat • Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays – student assistant will pull up schooltube.com and the class will watch the video of the day. • Tuesdays and Thursdays – students will write an article summary of a news story from cnn.com.

  5. What we’re working on: • Georgia Movie Academy • Student groups (3-8 students) are producing movies for the Georgia Movie Academy contest.

  6. Timeline: • Georgia Movie Academy Unit: Approx. 3 wks. • Brainstorm/Write: 2 days • Shoot: 1 wk. • Edit: 1 wk. • Review Projects: 2 days

  7. Learning Steps 1 – Organize Who will fill the production positions of: Writer(s), Director(s), Editor(s) 2 – Brainstorm Decide what your movie is about. This year’s GMA theme is: The Voices of Georgia. 3 – Write Write your script, or, create a storyboard. 4 – Shoot Crew members shoot their GMA submission. 5 – Edit Crew members edit their GMA submission.

  8. Learning Assessment Georgia Movie Academy projects will be graded using the GMA Rubric.

  9. HOMEWORK • Complete Keytrain assignments • Shoot outside video assignments as needed/assigned • Edit after class to meet deadlines if needed
