  2. Danish Centre • The Danish Centre for Assistive Technology (former name: Danish Centre for Technical Aids for Rehabilitation and Special Education) is the Danish National Information and Resource Centre on Assistive Technology for Rehabilitation and Education

  3. The aim • To contribute to the creation of equal opportunities for disabled persons - within the areas of • Rehabilitation • Assistive technology • Special education • e-Accessibility

  4. Founding • Founded in 1980 • A non-profit organisation • Partly financed through • public funding granted by the Association of County Councils and the municipalities of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg, • partly financed through other sources of income such as project participation and sale of services • We are 30 persons working at the Danish Centre

  5. Spheres of activities • Assistive Technology for people with disabilities, including ICT to be used for all purposes in the home, in education, at work and in leisure activities • Accessibility to physical environment, housing, services and technology • Housing design and home adaptation • Testing of assistive technology (including accredited testing) • Supply of assistive technology • Standardization • Research and development
