  3. The purpose of a resume is to obtain an interview.

  4. Creating Resume in 5 Steps • Assess Yourself • Set Strategy • List General Info. & Responsibility • Identify Your Achievement • Put together Your First Draft

  5. 1: Assess yourself Who are you? Personality, interest, values, aptitude… For example: patient, persistent, organized & etc. Where do you fit in the market? Abilities For example: customer service, administrative, computer graphics, culinary and etc.

  6. 2: Set Strategy What to Include – Include everything you have done Outline Your Work History – including internship, part-time work, freelance, volunteer work other activities you gained experience (baby-sitting), special school projects and etc.

  7. 3. List General Info. & Responsibilities By using Action Verbs For example: organized, reviewed, supervised, summarized & etc.

  8. 3. Identify Your Achievements What do Employers want? What type of services do you provide? To whom do you provide these services? How do your services help your clients?

  9. 5. Put Together Your First Draft Transfer your Information Chronological order: • Presents your work history in reverse chronological order, starting with your current position • Emphasizes the positions you have held and the companies where you have worked
