The Aerospace Corporation • Created in 1960 as a nonprofit corporation working foror in the interest of the U.S. Government in areas of scienceand technology critical to national security • Operates a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) in the planning, development, and acquisition of space and launch systems for the U.S. Government • Leader in the development of U.S. military space systems • Works for DOD and non-DOD clients • Employs ~3000 people including ~2000 technical staff (29% PhD, 41% MS) • Principal tasks: advanced planning, systems engineeringand integration, readiness verification, technical oversightof contractors and anomaly resolution Currently for 36 satellites, 11 boosters, and 13 ground elements

Benefits and Results to Date • Broadens Corporate “Big Picture” Awareness on Aerospace SA/SE Roles/ Capabilities and Develops “Systems” Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes • Over 500 Aerospace MTS have completed ASAECP Courses • Six MTS have earned certificates, six MTS nearing completion • Provides Highly Interactive Means For Collecting/Sharing the Aerospace SA/SE Corporate Memory • Over 70 senior Aerospace managers/technical leaders involved as instructors, course developers, on-the-job training mentors • Many volumes of high-quality course lecture notes and lessons-learned now available • Nurtures Development of Engineering Tools for Synthesis and Analysis of Complex Space Systems • Provides Opportunities for Collaborative Learning Activities with Customers and Broader Community • Joint Air Force/Aerospace Space Systems Acquisition Management curriculum now in development
