Introduction The purpose of the Subcommittee is to coordinate spatial water data and information activities among all levels of government and the private sector. NGDA Data Themes and Data Sets • The following data themes and data sets fall under the purview of the Subcommittee on Spatial Water Data: • National Hydrography Dataset, USGS, Jeff Simley • Watershed Boundary Dataset, USGS, Karen Hanson • National Wetlands Inventory, FWS, Tom Dahl • National Inventory of Dams, USACE, Rebecca Ragon • National Levee Database, USACE, Bryan Baker
Recent Meetings • The SSWD met on December 18, 2014 • The topics discussed at this meeting include: • Basic committee organization, meeting schedules • Update on National Wetlands Inventory • Update on National Hydrography dataset • Some of the outcomes arising from this meeting include: • Meeting schedule determined (quarterly) • Basic meeting agenda identified • Questions and answers about the specific datasets
Next Meeting • The next meeting of the SSWD will be held on March 19, 2014. It will take place via teleconference. • Some of the topics to be discussed at the next meeting include: • WBD Update • Agency Round Robin
Next Steps • In the coming months, the SSWD hopes to accomplish/discuss: • Build understanding across datasets/agencies • Host agency data requirements • External user requirements • Build some strategies towards better integration/interoperability
