This document outlines the objectives and considerations from the CLARA kick-off meeting held on September 21, 2010, in San Luis Potosí. It addresses the transport network services available through the GISELA project and emphasizes the need for effective networking adaptations to meet various project demands. Key topics include IPv4 and IPv6 services, traffic engineering, and Quality of Service (QoS) metrics. The role of CLARA's networking team and the importance of a dedicated liaison for ongoing communication with project partners are noted to ensure successful collaboration.

Objectives KoM SLP, 21th September 2010
Services Servicios de RedCLARA: * IPv4 * Multicast * IPv6 * Multicast IPv6 * BW Availability(QoS) * Measurements * Specific services for projects: (Grids) others. Traffic engineereing: * Trunk MLPS traffic engineering. * Alternative routing for Sensitive applications to delays *Manual tunneling shall prevail over IGP routing KoM SLP, 21th September 2010
GISELA networking needs • Networking can adapt to any service or application needs as long as a due process is in place and a good communication is established between the project partners and CLARA´s networking team • CLARA is contracting a person that will permanently interact with GISELA partners to address the different networking needs that the project may face • Specific services or configurations (i.e. VPNs, QoS, etc.) • Traffic monitoring and performance • Single point of coordination of the CLARA Regional NOC and the national NOCs of CLARA´s members • Failure/recovery KoM SLP, 21th September 2010
Final Considerations • CLARA´s networking team scope of work reaches the regional backbone and through its members (the NRENs) the national backbones • Users/Institutions are responsible for the appropriate access bandwidth to be able to run HPC applications KoM SLP, 21th September 2010
