IHE-RO • Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) is an initiative to improve Interoperability, the way computer systems share information in healthcare. • It promotes the coordinated use of established standards (such as DICOM or HL-7) to address specific clinical needs in support of optimal patient care. • IHE-RO brings these efforts specifically to the Radiation Oncology (RO) Domain

Facilitating Interoperability • Identify Real-World Interoperability Opportunities` • Develop Technical Descriptions of Device Behavior – “Profiles” • Examples: • Specific Plan Type Producer / Consumer - Stereotactic • Patient Treatment and Dose Recording - Appointment Transfer, Patient Verification and Treatment Record Storage • Creating Interoperability • Manufacturers Create Solutions • Testing Interoperability • Testing to the Profile • Connectathon – Judge the Working Solution • IHE-RO Connectathon 2013
