  1. ORAL SURGERY

  2. Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires several additional years of hospital and anesthesia training after completing dental school. We practice the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery ranging from implants and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery and facial trauma reconstruction. We at M B Dental Home provide the most up-to-date care in a comfortable and caring environment.

  3. A. Extractions: • Although extracting teeth is our last course of treatment, often extracting teeth is inevitable if the tooth is severely infected or broken. When extracting a tooth our aim to have a painless, comfortable procedure. • We use digital x-rays to determine the proper and safest way to remove teeth and ensure proper care to promote healing and prevent infection. Post-operative care following a tooth extraction is essential for healing and preventing complications.

  4. B. Wisdom tooth removal: • Wisdom teeth that erupt normally may still be vulnerable to decay over time. Because of the location of wisdom teeth at the back of the mouth, many patients find it difficult to clean and floss all surfaces of the teeth each day. Although complications may not appear immediately, wisdom teeth may begin causing problems in middle to late adulthood. • Your wisdom teeth removal will likely be performed by our oral surgeon. Most removals take only minutes to perform, but you’ll be under anesthesia or sedation to prevent discomfort. Once the teeth are removed, the gums are sutured shut.

  5. C. Dental Implants: • Dental implants are surgical-grade root devices that support permanent tooth prosthetics that are manufactured to last a lifetime. These artificial roots are anchored in the bone beneath the gums where they become fused into the jaw. A crown is mounted atop the implant for a long-lasting and natural looking smile. • Many dentists and patients prefer dental implants because they offer the same function as natural teeth and also help prevent bone atrophy in the jaw. Dental implants may be used to replace a single missing or damaged tooth or to restore an entire smile.

  6. D. Bone grafting: • Also known as ridge and sinus augmentation. Is a procedure used to build up the bone beneath the surface of the gums. The bones in the upper and lower arch of the mouth are responsible for supporting the teeth. When one or more teeth fall out, bone resorption occurs naturally. When patients decide to replace missing teeth with dental implants, insufficient bone mass can prevent them from qualifying for the procedure. • Bone grafting addresses inadequate bone mass by filling in eroded areas with bone harvested from the patient’s own body, or that of a cadaver or animal. The new bone helps promote new bone growth that will eventually support a dental implant. Although dentures and bridges are a prosthetic option, they do not provide the same benefits available with dental implants. Implant dentistry prevents others from recognizing teeth as ‘false,’ and it also prevents the jawbone from disintegrating and any remaining natural teeth from shifting.
