  20. A Query Is………….. • A request for a subset of records from your EDExpress database • You specify the criteria that describes the subset of records • Provides flexibility in locating and extracting information from your database

  24. Using Queries • If the Selection Criteria button is enabled on a dialog box, a query can be used • Print, Export, and Multiple Entry • Import in Packaging, DL, Pell, and TEACH • Processes such as global Packaging and global calculation of Pell award amounts

  34. Create a Query The 3rd Query statement will connect to the 4th Query Statement using an Or connector for selecting WI or IN residents

  35. Create a Query Completed Query to pull Pell Eligible Freshmen who are residents of either WI or IN

  36. Create a Query Select Tools—Query—Packaging Tab—Retrieve button to view list of queries and select the new created query

  37. Use a Query Select a function from the main menu such as Print, Export, Multiple Entry or module to module import. Then select the module for the query

  41. Use a Query The Query Title you selected displays in the Query Title field. Click OK

  42. Use a Query Student records meeting the criteria of the query will print on the selected module report

Using Multiple Entry • You can update various fields in Global, Packaging, Direct Loan (DL), Pell Grant (Pell), and TEACH Grant (TEACH) for multiple students at one time • Fields available to update depend on the module you select • Selection Criteria (query or select records) can be used to choose specific records to update

  46. Using Multiple Entry • Relevant edits are applied when records are updated • If an update does not pass edits, the information is printed on a report after the process is finished

  49. New for EDExpress Release 3 • Will now print MPN’s and Disclosure Statements in Spanish • Additional Eligibility Indicator (AEI) for two Pells in an award year remains DO NOT USE as this was eliminated for 11/12 award year
