  1. 6 Simple Steps to Reverse Dental Cavities

  2. Steps to Reverse Dental Cavities • Cavities are holes in the teeth. They’re a common dental issue that’s both treatable and preventable. • If you can't get a dental appointment right away, there are some ways on how you can manage the discomfort from home. • Depending on their severity, cavities may or may not cause pain.

  3. Here are Simple Steps on How You Can Help Reverse Dental Cavities:

  4. Keep Your Teeth Clean • Cavities can cause discomfort and pain when debris gets stuck in them. Brush and floss your teeth to remove food residues. • Even if the area feels sore, do clean it. Just be sure to brush gently. Leaving debris behind can only worsen the cavity. • If they linger long on your teeth, they can also affect your gums and cause further dental concerns.

  5. Change Your Toothbrush • Your toothbrush may have hard bristles that can only cause the teeth enamel to erode further. Switch to one with soft bristles. • You don't have to wait for four months to do so. • Once you see that your brush is starting to get frayed, replace it.

  6. Rinse With Warm Saltwater • A saltwater rinse shouldn't be deemed a substitute for regular brushing and flossing. • However, it helps to include it in your oral hygiene routine if you're dealing with cavities. Salt is known for its antiseptic and antibacterial properties. • Mix one tablespoon of salt with warm water and use it to rinse your mouth. You can do so several times a day, or every night before sleeping.

  7. Avoid Sugary And Starchy Food • Keep cavities from forming. Watch your diet and limit your intake of anything sugary and starchy. This includes white bread, pasta, chips, cookies, and sweets. • Sugary and starchy food tend to stick longer to the teeth. This gives them more time to cause damage to the teeth. • Starchy food breaks down into sugars and later turns into acids that beat down the tooth enamel.

  8. Skip Carbonated Beverages • Carbonated beverages are also high in sugar content. When you consume them, you're also exposing your teeth to sugar directly. • Even sugar-free sodas can be harmful to the teeth, too. If you must indulge once in a while, be sure to rinse your mouth afterward or drink water. • Reduce the time your teeth are exposed to sugars and acids.

  9. Drink Water More Often • Nothing beats plain water for your hydration needs. By keeping your mouth moist, you help your teeth rebuild lost minerals. • You can also keep your cavities from progressing. Water does not leave behind any residues. • It does not only help clean the teeth, but it's also good for your overall health.
