  5. Assignment Over the next week look for mythical allusions in everyday life. Look in newspapers, magazines, books, on television, and in movies. We will post on the bulletin boardwhat we find as a class. Who can find the most unusual?

  6. Reflection I made a power point presentation to support a lesson about mythical allusions. To make this presentation I used multiple applications from the power point program. I started with making the backgrounds all different colors and designs. I searched the internet for images to make the presentation more interesting and animated. I used different ways having the text enter the page on all slides. Of course different fonts and font sizes were used throughout the presentation. There are also different ways to get each slide. Some are by mouse click and others I used the timed animation feature. Make sure on page five to click the mouse till you get the arrows at the end. I added arrows on that slide to connect the person to who they are. Each arrow can be clicked one at a time so the kids can try to give the answer before the answer is shown. Each slide is there as a discussion point. I hope to entice the kids with the first two slides to want to know what activities are coming next. The first slide with the Pegasus, which is interesting to young kids and the second slide with the pictures of the books, newspapers, tv, movies, and magazines hopefully will make them want to know more about the assignment that comes at the end. The third slide is a discussion point as I continue to introduce the idea the mythical allusions are in everyday life that they know. The fourth slide is the most interactive between the class and teacher since I will be asking them if they can match the people to their description. If not, the fourth slide can branch off into a discussion about who the people are and why it is important to know who they are. The last slide is their assignment and conclusion to the first day of the lesson. The end result will be putting their mythical allusions up on a bulletin board in the classroom that we can use to further investigate the topic of mythical allusion and mythology in their reading.
