Matthew 11:2-6Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?” Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor. Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me.”

The Highway of Holiness • A Holy way – v8 • ‘Holy’ = dedicated, set apart. • Jesus = dedicated to God and purity. • Those who come home to God must also be ‘clean’ – v8. • A Harmless way - v9. • There is no danger in following Jesus. • A Homeward way v10. Cp Isaiah 51:11; John 14:1-4; 1 Timothy 4:7&8

  4. The ransomed of the LORD will return.    They will enter Zion with singing;    everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them,    and sorrow and sighing will flee away.Isaiah 51:11

  5. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” John 14:1-4

  6. ‘I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing’. 2 Tim 4:7 & 8

Cp Isaiah 51:11; John 14:1-4; 1 Tim 4:7-8 • A Happy way - v10. • We cannot fully enjoy ourselves until we learn to enjoy God. • ‘Where there’s no hope in the future there’s no power for the present’.
