The Slantsy Municipality, part of the Baltic region, engaged in the SuPortNet II North-West RUS project from November 2003 to November 2004. This initiative focused on Sustainable Spatial Development and aimed to boost boat tourism by integrating the region into the Baltic Network. The Slantsy area spans 219,109 hectares and is home to 46,700 residents, with Slantsy city itself hosting 36,400. The region is dotted with significant water bodies such as Chudskoe Lake, the Narva water reservoir, and several rivers, complemented by its rich historical and architectural monuments.
