I miss you.Chen-ching Li (June 4, 2005) Dear Prof. Li: First of all, I have to say thank you for your caring and I do feel touched when seeing the email from you. About my absence last week, I should have informed you that I might not able to make it, so I apologize here. I went to AIT for the interview to get the visa. It took longer time then I expected, that's why I missed the class last week. Since the end of this semester is almost here, I will not miss any of the rest classesfrom Prof. Li. See you tomorrow afternoon Best Regards Curtis (June 8, 2005) Dear Curtis,It's wonderful to hear from you. By Hsu Wei-chung Wednesday, Jun 08, 2005, Page 8. It is encouraging to hear the news that officials have finally planned a campaign to safeguard the health of its citizens ("Officials hold anti-smoking event" June 01, Page 2). Through this thought-provoking article, we learn that our government is working hard to support the building of a smoke-free environment in Taiwan. Quitting smoking not only reduces the risk of lung cancer, but also prevents pregnant woman from giving premature births. Through this measure, we don't have to suffer from second-hand smoking everywhere we go. There will also not be so many cigarette butts on the ground, that rob us of a clean and beautiful environment. It is gratifying that our government is drafting a Tobacco Hazard Control Act to push for a smoke-free environment so as to protect the health for all. How I am Going to Help Educate and Nurture My Children By Billy Ke When parents involved in their children’s education, kids do better in school. Also, they will develop healthy and positive attitudes with compassion. Wherever around the world, parents always are the people who love us and are concerned about us thoroughly, without asking any repayment. No parents will love but their own children, because children are the most valuable asset that can not be replaced. Having the responsibility to nature (wrong word) their children, most parents will devote themselves only to pursuit the best for their children and to withdraw in the secondary place, without disputing the gain and loss. Among all effort nurturing the children, education is hence becoming the most important tasks for parents and the necessary job to carry out. I’m always appreciative for my parents’ democratic nurturing, which enables me to treat things in a positive way and to form a (well) sound mind. If it wasn’t their whole-heartedly fostering on me, I would never intrigue in many acquirements to flourish my life, having chance to spread my experience. It’s all because of them. By watching how my parents teach me, I myself, if ever, will one day become parent in the future. I will undoubtedly do the same, without any hesitance hesitation, toward my children. Always maintaining a good communication channel between my children and me is surely what I’m going to do. For a healthy family that sharing is always being encouraged. Besides, as the best shelter and tranquil place of mind, the gate of thorough communication will (disclose) be wide open anytime if needed. To my beloved children, I will let them know “the family is always being there for them,” awaited forever. Last but not least, someday my children will know about the true meaning it is. I will tell them steps by steps with my heart and model deeds looking after them. “Such a concern and cherishment will seriously stem from the bottom of mind heart that will never extinguish. It will keep passing through in the future.”(Where does the quotation come from? Specify it.)That is the perspective in my mind. To my expectation, it will never come to the end either my parents’ generation or my generation and my children’s, but keep developing and growing after all.
