Requirements - Game Concept • Users are prompted to add a number of words which will be used to fill the blanks in a text passage stored on a server. • When the user has provided all of the words, the story that was created is shown. • The results are meant to be hilarious, but sometimes scary!!

  4. Requirements for site • User inputs appropriate word based on syntax in text fields • User presses Submit button • User views words integrated into pre-existing paragraphs

  5. Justification for using IIS • Uniserver did not support our use(s) of ASP.net • ASP.net is a Microsoft platform so it makes sense to use Microsoft’s IIS web server platform for compatibility • Easy to setup • Free; comes packaged with the software already on your personal computer

  6. Requirements for Running the IIS Server • Pentium 3 processor computer • Tested at boot by viewing BIOS info • 64 MB RAM • Tested at boot with BIOS • Windows XP operating system with Service Pack 1 • Tested by right clicking on My Computer on the desktop and going to the Properties page • Networking protocols installed • Tested by right clicking on My Network Places icon on desktop and click Properties, right click on the appropriate connection and click Properties

  7. Requirements (cont’d) • 20-30 MB available disk space to install IIS • Check by opening My Computer, right clicking on the appropriate hard drive and click Properties • Port 80 available (and computer is connected to internet) • Open the installed firewall program and check if a rule was made on that port • No viruses on machine • Check with a virus scanner • No physical damage to hard drive • Check with Scandisk • IIS is started (and stopped when necessary) • A max of 10 users can access the site at one time
