Who are leaders • Are leaders born or made . • Who guides common goal showing the way by example • Leadership is the ability of a superior to influence the behaviour of his subordinates and persuade them to follow a particular course of action . • Ability to make his subordinates to work with confidence and zeal

Ultimate leader is …. • Leader should have high level of intelligence with sound educational and technical background • Emotionally stable , should not loose temper at any instant • Understand human behaviour , needs , emotions etc and deal with all people • Understand the views of others should not do on his own way • Not only self motivated but also motivate followers

Should initiate the work and have creative ability • Should be able to judge anything for actions and good decisions • Lead from the front by taking the responsibilities and must be a decision maker • Good guide to the subordinates and demonstrate the ways of doing work • Should have attractive and pleasing personality with dignified behaviour • Should be honor , sincere • And leave people the will to carry on

Types of leadership • Management – doing things right • Leadership – doing right things • Types – autocratic - Leader makes decisions without reference to anyone else,High degree of dependency on the leader,Can create de-motivation and alienation of staff,May be valuable in some types of business where decisions need to be made quickly and decisively • Democratic – Encourage decision making from different prespective – process of consultation before decision .

Leadership in Simple Terms • Understand the vision • Direct and enable others to cooperate in achieving it “Leadership is the ability to direct people, more important, to have those people accept that direction”. It is about really paying attention to people – really believing them, really caring about them, really involving them.”

Leaders Build Leadership To build leadership the leader has to enable participant independence so they can perform with freedom and autonomy to make informed decisions without the leader around.
