  1. What Is The Right Way To Praise Your Child?

  2. WHOA! How Does Praise Works? Praise is when you tell your child what you LIKE about their behaviour. Praise nurtures your child’s self-esteem, confidence, and sense of self. By using praise, you are showing your child how to think and talk POSITIVELY about themselves. You are helping your child learn how to recognise when they do well and to feel good about themselves.

  3. Here is How to Praise Your Child The RIGHT Way:

  4. DON'T Overpraise 01 • If you praise too much, you will lose credibility.

  5. Praise EFFORT and PROGRESS 02 • Avoid focusing praise only on results because this can lower your child’s confidence.

  6. Be SPECIFIC and DESCRIPTIVE 03 • Do not give general praise as this is meaningless and does not highlight the behaviour or efforts that you want to encourage.

  7. Look Them in the EYES 04 • This helps give you credibility.

  8. Praise Each Child's INDIVIDUAL Strengths 05 • "Yes, Timmy is fast at running, but I've noticed that you are jumping very high!"

  9. DON'T Praise the Obvious 06 • If you constantly praise your child for the easy things, it will become too common and have little meaning.

  10. Look for Little CHANGES And SUCCESSES  07 • Rather than waiting until your child has done something perfectly to give a compliment, try to praise any effort or improvement.

  11. “ Praising your child is a way to show that you are PROUD of them and encourage them to be proud of themselves!”
