Operational CSBT: Enhancing Imager Brightness Temperature

A new operational product, CSBT (Clear Sky Brightness Temperature), provides box-averaged imager brightness temperature for clear skies. GOES-East and –West operational since December 6, 2005. ECMWF has utilized GOES CSBT data operationally for water vapor since October 2003. Collaboration with Tony Schreiner of CIMSS. Direct transfer of project to OSDPD from CIMSS. Data point locations available for GOES-10 and -12.
