  3. Measuring Tools • Tape measures • Meter stick

  4. SKIRT MARKER – useful for measuring hems accurately, especially wide hems.

  5. MEASURING GAUGE –used for marking off small measurements

  6. MEASURING EQUIPMENT • L-square • French curve • Hip ruler

  7. FASHION RULER • Used for drawing in curved areas on a pattern. (example necklines)

  8. FRENCH CURVE • Used for shaping curved areas

  9. Marking Tools • Tailor’s chalk • Dressmaker’s Pencil • Tracing Wheel • Dressmaker’s carbon paper

  10. Marking Equipment • Tracing Wheel - used with dressmaker’s carbon to transfer markings from paper to fabric
