Peak Oil –> higher oil price -> oil consumption must decrease which leads to an economic recession, unless: Ecoefficient production (e.g. production of cars using less resources) Ecoefficient consumption (e.g. driving cars using less resources) Using digital services instead of physical products (e.g. using videoconferencing instead of flying to meetings) Demate- rialization Immateria- lization Amateria- lization which leads to a more ecoefficient economy when ICT’s share of GNP exceeds 5% (Terra2000 research) ...means accelerating competition for resources
